S. George Belezos

S. George Belezos, age 95 of Canton passed away November 21st . Born and raised in Boston, he graduated from Mechanic Arts High School and Northeastern University. He lived in Canton since 1958. George was a combat Army Veteran serving as a member of the Tank Destroyers during WW II. He fought in Europe and in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for 29 years for Boston Gear rising through the ranks to become their youngest Chief Engineer and eventually, the Director of Research and Development. In 1966, he started his own company, Bendon Gear now in Rockland, MA which he ran for many years and remains a family business today. George was immensely proud of his business and his many professional accomplishments. Always innovative, he was responsible for several National Patents in his industry. He loved music, played several instruments and, in his early years, he trained with the Boston Symphony as a percussionist winning several awards. George loved to be surrounded by people but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Beloved husband of Loula Z. (Haralambides). Father of George Peter Belezos and his wife Katina of Hingham, Marci Toma and her husband George of Hull, Lisa Arpino and her husband Don of Wellesley, Diane Rodenhiser and her husband Michael of Canton, Stephanie Kapantais and her husband Michael of Kennebunk, ME, and Christopher Belezos and his wife Nancy of Marshfield. Brother of Angelina Belezos of Canton and the late Caliope M. Belezos. Grandfather of Melissa, Julie, Nicole and Jason Rodenhiser, Daniel, Gregory and Katie Arpino, Lauren and Lindsay Toma, Nicholas Belezos, Chloe and Lena Kapantais, Callie, Cyrus and Paige Belezos. George dearly loved his nieces, Kathryn Hahn and Sophia Michalatos and nephews, James and John Stratis. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St. Canton Saturday November 28th at 1 pm. Visiting hours prior to the service from 11am to 1 pm. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund, Inc. P.D.G. William T.
