New Bedford – Antonio Lima, age 97, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015. He was the widower of Maria Otilia (Martins) and the son of the late Amelia and Jose Lima. Mr. Lima was born in Pico, Azores and, after moving to this country, worked as a Weaver at Berkshire Hathaway until his retirement.
His family includes 2 children: Fernando Lima and his wife, Maria of Dartmouth, and Manuel Lima and his wife Augustinha of New Bedford; 1 grandson: Kevin Lima; 2 siblings: Jamie Lima of New Bedford and Teresa Rosa of California as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Lima, Emilio Lima, and Amalia Lima.
His funeral will be Wednesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
