Obituary

Leo J. Cormier, 90, of Derry, NH, passed away Wednesday November 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waltham, MA on July 31, 1925, a son of the late Leo J. Sr. and Emma (Hall) Cormier. Mr. Cormier grew up in Charlestown, MA, where he attended high school. He entered the U.S Navy in 1942 and served in WWII. He married his wife, the late Mary M. Cormier, in 1950. Mr. Cormier enjoyed taking day trips, eating out at various restaurants and was actively involved at St. Mark’s Church. He will be remembered for all his military stories and his neat and precise nature he gained as a result of this naval service, but most of all he will be remembered for his ability to make others smile.
He is survived by his daughter, Pauline Granacki and her husband William of Derry; his son, Donald Costantino of Florida; three grandsons Brad, Brian and Scott Granacki; three granddaughters, Tammy Perry, Sonja White, and Michelle Bruton and four great-grandchildren.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 10 – 11am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service will follow at 11am in the funeral home. The burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Rd., Londonderry.
