Paul R. Sheehan, a 40 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Daniel's House Nursing Home in Reading following an extended illness. He was 77 years old.
Paul was born in Boston on June 17, 1938, a son of the late Francis Sheehan and Wanda (Boyce) Sheehan. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1955. He enlisted into the United States Army on October 31, 1955 and served his country with dignity and pride. He was discharged on November 5, 1957 with the rank of Specialist(3) . Paul attended the Pipefitters Training Center and later became a member of the Pipefitters Union Local #537, where he eventually retired after 50 years of dedicated service. Paul enjoyed deep sea fishing.
Paul is the beloved husband of the late Evelyn T. (Jesson) Sheehan. He is the loving father of Alyce Sheehan of Reading, Paul R. Sheehan Jr. of Somerville, Susan Fuleihan of Reading, and Joanne Burke of Tewksbury. He is the loving Papa of Isabella Fuleihan, Colleen Burke, and Calli Burke. He is the beloved brother of Francis Sheehan of Scituate, Sheila McGonagle of Charlestown and the late Jack Sheehan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul's Funeral on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Visiting hours will be on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
