In Taunton, November 18, 2015 Antonio Monteiro, Age 83, passed away following a brief illness with his loving family by his side at Longmeadow of Taunton. Antonio was the husband of the late Maria (Rosario) Monteiro. Antonio was born in Cape Verde, the son of the late Miquel & Candida (Nascimento) Monteiro. Antonio worked as a mariner in the shipping industry and also at Pizzeria Uno in Brockton for eleven years. He enjoyed farming, gardening and above all was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Antonio leaves his nine children Joao, Carlos, Gregorio, Bernadette, Marcelina, Antonio, Beatrice, Angela and Margaret Monteiro. He also leaves his 23 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Antonio leaves his sister Delfina Gomes and was preceded in death by his other 4 siblings. A funeral home service will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 3-6 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
