Mrs. Marie R. “Rose” (Dansereau) Menard, of Taunton, died Wednesday, November 18 in the Golden Living Center – Wedgemere following a brief illness. She was born 98 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Louis R.N. and Brita C. (Johnson) Dansereau. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, Marie had been employed as an L.P.N. at Forest Manor in Middleboro for many years. She was previously employed at Morton Hospital, the Paul A. Dever State School, Country Haven in Norton, Longmeadow of Taunton, and was formerly employed at Hastings Variety Store, the Taunton Pearl Works, Homer’s Jewelry, H.L. Green and the Taunton Daily Gazette. Marie also operated a day care service from her home for a number of years. She was a member of the A.A.R.P. She enjoyed crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Taunton.
She leaves: 5 children: Rita R. Menard of Lakeville, Paul Menard of Taunton, Elaine Anne Smith and her husband, John of E.Taunton, David R. Menard and his wife, Kathleen of Whitman, and Lois Marie Crovello and her husband, Michael of Florida; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Marie was also the sister of the late Joseph, Napoleon, and Louis Dansereau, Christina Plummer, Anna Morin and Louise DiPietro.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, November 24 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
