Obituary

TAUNTON – Aaron Cordoba Martinez, husband of Nixida M. Cruz, died in Fayetteville, NC on Nov. 14, 2015 at 11:28 a.m.
He was 24.
Born in Veracruz, Mexico, he was the son of Ernesto and Maria A. Cordoba of Taunton.
Educated in Taunton, he had a lifelong love of sports and was very athletic.
He held a 2nd degree black belt in Karate, he holds the national weightlifting record obtained during the weightlifting competition in Denver, CO while representing Bristol-Plymouth High School. He was passionate about bodybuilding.
He also modeled for Alfani and loved the piano and trumpet.
He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC until his passing.
Prior to the Army, he worked for Aaron's Furniture.
In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves a stepdaughter, Rosandra Furtado of Taunton; his paternal grandparents, Ernesto Cordoba and Cecilia Cayetano of Mexico; his maternal grandparents, Eduardo Martinez and Yolanda Barran of Mexico; two sets of godparents who are also his uncle and aunt, Paulino A. Cordoba and Josefina Jaime of Mexico and Martin and Luz Gamboa of Mashpee; two godsons who are also his counsins, Nathaniel J. Gamboa and Dionisio A. Gamboa of Mashpee; his uncle Eduardo Martinez and his cousin Apolonia Martinez of Weymouth.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Nov. 23rd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church, Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
