Obituary

Alan Edward Miller, age 61, died peacefully in his home on Monday morning, November 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was the devoted husband to Helen E. (Sellew) Miller for over 41 years. Born and raised in Natick, he was the son of the late Edward and Margery (Williams) Miller.

Alan had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid boater and fisherman, having spent many summers with family and friends in Vermont and on Cape Cod. A highly skilled carpenter, Alan designed and built their dream home in Holliston. Alan had many diverse interests and talents, including scuba diving, woodworking, car restoration and music. He also enjoyed playing bass guitar with his lifelong friends in the Foster Williams Band.

Alan and Helen cofounded several small businesses, including Alan Fuel and The Cutting Connection in Natick. Most recently, Alan worked as a home heating oil deliveryman with Jamie Oil, where he was employed for over 17 years.

In addition to his wife, Alan is survived by two sisters, Debbie Mangini and her husband, Charles of Worcester, and Nancy Rutledge of Indiana; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Anita and Eddy Mamoun of Florida, Mary and Richard Kelleher of Holliston, George and Rita Sellew of Natick, and Karen Craig and her partner Phil Phillips of Charlton; nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Robert, Kenneth, Kristen, George, Richard, Laura, and John; great nephews, Kenneth and Frankie; and his great niece, Eliza.

Alan’s memorial service will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Saturday, November 21st at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends may visit with his family beginning at 9:30AM.
