Gilford-----Donald Brian Poole, age 72, of Annis Dr., Gilford, NH, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after an almost twenty year battle with prostate cancer. He was born on April 4, 1943 in Braintree, MA, the son of the late Roger and Dorothy (Morse) Poole.
Don received his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and worked as a mechanical engineer for many years at the Foxboro Company in Foxboro, MA. After his retirement in 1981, Don pursued ministry and went on to receive a Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Ministry from the World Evangelism College in Baton Rouge, LA. He loved to discuss and teach the word of God to everyone. Don also loved lighthouses, fishing, reading and watching New England Sports.
Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Poole (Haynes), a son Nathan T. Poole and his wife Loriann of Laconia and a daughter Jennifer L. and her husband Patrick Freo of Laconia. Don is also survived by a brother David Poole of North Carolina, three grandchildren, three step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday November 21,2015 at the Faith Alive Christian Fellowship Church, 72 Primrose Dr., Laconia at 10:00 AM.
Burial will immediately follow at the Bayside Cemetery, Union St, Laconia.
