FALL RIVER – Manuel J. Botelho, age 70, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15th. Born in São Miguel, Açores, he was the husband of Virginia (Ferreira) Botelho & the son of the late José Botelho Soares & Maria I. Oliveira. Prior to retiring, Manuel worked for Main Textile Mfg. (formerly Joan Fabrics) and for Cinderella’s Bakery. He served in the Portuguese Army and was a member of the Republican Club. He enjoyed gardening & playing his harmonica.
In addition to his wife, he’s survived by his children: Carlos M. Botelho, Sandra Pavao (husband Duarte), and Michelle Botelho all of Fall River; siblings: Laura Bulhoes of Somerset, Eduardo Botelho & Helen Lima of Fall River, & Anna Roeas of Tiverton; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
