FALL RIVER… Romeo G. Roy, 85, of Fall River passed away November15, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Fall River, husband of Henriette Y. (Petit) Roy, son of the late Zephir N. Roy and Albertine (Banville) Roy.
He resided in Fall River all his life.
A communicant and collector at the former Notre Dame Parish, now St. Bernadette. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Vincent de Paul Society which on his retirement was manager of the store on Pleasant St. until his sickness.
Mr. Roy was employed for Stella Ann Frocks as a presser and also at the former Newport finishing and GTE Sylvania.
He was a great fan of the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox.
A U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his brothers Roger of Fall River, and Joseph A. of New York, two sisters, Alice Andrade and Rose Marie Cantin, both of Fall River. He was also the brother of the late Peter, Albert, Conrad, Armand & Frank Roy and Theresa Beauregard.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 9AM from the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 eastern Ave. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 - 8 PM.
