Florence Eva (Robichaud) Robidoux, age 87 of Andover passed away at her late residence on November 13, 2015 as a result of several years of declining health. She was born in Methuen to the late Francis and Florence (Richard) Robichaud. Mrs. Robidoux attended the Methuen Schools. She moved to Andover in 1947 where she raised her family. Florence was a home maker but very often she could be found at Robichaud’s Hardware of Methuen which her parents started in 1922. During the holidays, Florence could be found helping many of the store’s customers and even wrapping presents for them. Music was a great passion in Florence’s life. She was an organ player and member of the choir at St. Robert Bellarmine Church of Andover. Florence sung at many weddings, funerals and Sunday masses. As a very young child and throughout her life, Florence was a lover of animals. Florence had a way with any animal she came in contact with, even befriending the meanest of stray cats in her neighborhood.
Florence was the beloved wife of Wilfred Robidoux with whom she shared 70 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Frank Robidoux and his wife Barbara of Andover, Robert Robidoux and his wife Barbara of Methuen, Richard Robidoux and his wife Lynne of Andover and Karen Desrochers and her fiancé Herb Jones of Salem, NH. Mrs. Robidoux was the beloved grandmother of Alison, Krista, Jimmy, Jason, Michael, Taylor, Kara, Richard, and Christine. She was the cherished great grandmother of Madison, Jaxon, Hannah, Sadie, Courtney, and Brody.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Rd. Andover from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place immediately following calling hours at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Interment to follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Mausoleum of Lawrence. Donations in Mrs. Robidoux’s memory may be made to the MSPCA Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway Methuen, MA 01844.
