Anne Marie Magee, age 85, of Canton, passed away after a brief illness on November 14th surrounded by her loving family
Born at Norwood Hospital on September 19th 1930, she was a lifelong resident of Canton. She attended Saint John the Evangelist school and graduated from Canton High School in 1948. Anne Marie graduated from the Nursing Program at Children's Hospital in 1951. Over 35 years she worked as a Registered Nurse at The Massachusetts Hopsital School, Norwood Hospital, Norcap Lodge, the Hellenic Nursing Home and in the private practice of Nelson Batchelder M.D. She was a lifelong communicant at Saint John's the Evangelist in Canton, where she served as Eucharistic Minister. Anne Marie served in the community as a Girl Scout Troop leader, Boy Scout Den Mother, on the Board of Saint John's School Foundation, with The Nurses Guild of Saint Jude, The Catholic Women's Club and as a driver for FISH. She spent endless hours playing cards with 'The Ladies' Blanche, Claire, Inga and June. She was the devoted wife of James R. Magee Sr. The loving mother of James R. Magee Jr. and his wife Eileen of Canton; Judith Magee of West Jordan, Utah; Tara Adondakis and her husband Greg of Holladay, Utah; Thomas Magee and his wife Laura of Foxboro, MA. The joy of Anne Marie's life was spending time with her grandchildren Micheal, Anna, Stephania, Isaac and George of Holladay, Utah and Caroline, Bridget and Audrey of Foxboro, MA. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (Casey) O'Brien. Sister of the late Leonard “Bud” O'Brien and his wife Margaret; John”Jack”and his wife Carolyn; James and his wife Myra 'Gale'. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Wednesday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
