Obituary

NATICK: Sue E. Lima, 73, of Natick and East Dennis, departed this life on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Born in New Bedford, Sue was a daughter of the late Walter and Janet (Byron) Szela. She graduated from Dartmouth High School and attended Southeastern Massachusetts Technological Institute where she met her husband, Joseph A. “Joe” Lima. Joe and Sue married in 1966, moved to Catskill, NY and then settled in Natick in 1969.

A resident of Natick for the past 46 years, Sue was well-known and admired by the community in which she lived and worked. She was a loving and well-loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A respected realtor, she took pride in her career which she appreciated as an opportunity to help others make one of the more significant decisions of their lives, often following a milestone event. Beyond her profession, Sue volunteered her time in a number of ways to the town, its schools and Saint Patrick’s Parish where she and her family were long-time members. She also served in leadership roles for the Adoption Association of Massachusetts for many years.

Sue was genuine, warm, welcoming and kind. She was known for building strong lasting relationships and cherished many close friendships as a result. Her greatest joy was her family who she leaves behind, her husband Joe, her children—Jason Lima and his wife Courtney of Ashland, Julie Lima of Newton, Sarah Sykora and her husband Brian of Needham—and five beloved grandchildren, Ryann, Jack and Colby Lima and Alexandra and Nate Sykora who revered their “Mimi”. Sue is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wood of Somerville, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Sue E. Lima by joining her family on Thursday, November 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. for visiting hours in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, and on Friday at 10:00 A.M. for Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick. A burial will be privately held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sue E. Lima may be made to The Natick Service Council online at www.natickservicecouncil.org or by mail at 2 Webster Street Natick, MA 01760.
