TAUNTON – Carolina P. (Mimoso) Baptista of Taunton, wife of the late Euclides Baptista, died at Morton Hospital on Nov. 10, 2015. She was 96.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Mateus and Eugenia (Andrade) Mimoso.
Mrs. Baptista was a longtime resident of Taunton and a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, she enjoyed cooking and family gatherings. She loved her family and taking care of her grandchildren.
Survivors include five sons, Jose Baptista and his wife Humberta, Daniel Baptista and his wife Rosa, John Baptista and his wife Carlota, and Henry Baptista and his wife Dolores, all of Taunton, and Manny Baptista and his wife Julie of Pawtucket; two daughters, Aduzinda DaCruz of Taunton and Elcidina Andrade and her husband Jose of Pawtucket, 23 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Joseph Mimoso, Maria Martins and Maria Augusta Mimoso.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Nov. 13th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
