Mrs. Rosemarie M. “Toots” (Menard) Ross, of Naples, Fla., and formerly of North Dighton, died Friday, November 6 in Naples following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman A. Ross. She was born 81 years ago in Dighton, the daughter of the late Edmond and Rosabelle (Lenney) Menard. She was educated in Dighton and had been a North Dighton resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Toots had been employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in North Dighton for many years. She was a member of the “Dandi-Lions” in Dighton. She was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton.
She leaves: 3 sons: Jeffery Ross and his wife, Susan of Pearland, Tx., Kevin Ross of Naples, Fl., and David Ross of Katy, Tx.; 1 sister: Virginia Denault and her husband, Leo of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edmond Menard and Lucille Nichols.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Saturday, December 5 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton, at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne, on Monday, December 7 at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Dighton Lions Club or to the charity of your choice.
