Dorothea A. (Haynes) Drew, 95 a lifelong resident of Methuen, passed away on November 2, 2015 at the Prescott House in North Andover. Dorothea was born in Lawrence on May 15, 1920 to the late Thomas and Ellen (Carr) Haynes. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Mrs. Drew was a long time communicant of St. Monica’s Church of Methuen. She enjoyed world traveling and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Drew was a bookkeeper at Central Catholic High School and Findeisen Farms. She was a volunteer at St. Monica’s Church in Various capacities and enjoyed other social groups. Mrs. Drew had an amazing sense of adventure and went parasailing for the first time at 85 years. On her 80th birthday, Dorothea received over 100 cards, a few more than usual. Dot made everyone feel “special” like they were the most important when in her company.
Dorothea was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Drew. She was the devoted mother of Thomas Drew, Robert Drew, Susan Martin, Ann Marie Bellmore, Nancy Young and the late Jon Drew. Mrs. Drew is survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Helen DiBennedetto and her husband James.
