Laconia-----Alphonse “Buster” G. Maheux, 83, of 76 Dartmouth Street, died on Friday, November 06, 2015 at his home with family at his side.
Buster was born in Laconia on December 4, 1931, the son of Wilfred J. L. and Marie M. (Dupont) Maheux.
Buster was a longtime resident of Laconia. He was a graduate of Laconia High School class of 1950. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during Korea and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Buster was an avid skier who enjoyed the outdoors. He loved working is his yard, but most of all he loved his family.
Buster was a former Vice-President, director of Safety for Pike Industries where he had been employed since 1959. He was a member of the DAV Lakes Region Chapter, American Society of Safety Engineers, Greater White Mtn. Chapter of Laconia, Red Cross and the Toastmasters Club and a longtime member of the Opechee Park Clubhouse. Buster was a former Cub Scout Leader.
Survivors include two sons; David C. Maheux and his wife, Patti, Bruce M. Maheux and his wife, Flo all of Laconia; a daughter, Donna Jean Maheux Watterson and her husband, Daryl, of Sullivan; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Armand E. Maheux, of Laconia; two sisters, Lucille Bilodeau, of Laconia and Claire Stinson, of Gilford and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Maheux was predeceased by his wife, Beverly A. Maheux who died in 2014, and by a brother Philip A. Maheux and a sister, Theresa A. Carter.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Andre Bessette Parish-St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
