Fall River – Maria Lemos, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fayal, Azores, Maria moved to this country 50 years ago and worked as a Manager for a local country club until her retirement.
She is survived by her 2 children: Debra Lemos and Stanley Lemos, both of Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren: Clayton Lemos, Alexander Lemos, Jordan Lemos, Sareena Lemos and Logan Lemos; siblings: Maria Ceu Vargas, Edwina Santos, Myra Antonio and Joe Vargas, all of Dartmouth; 2 Godchildren: Kelly Jacintho of Dartmouth and Ragina Victorino of RI; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, James P. Lemos and her sister, Tina Jacintho.
Her funeral will be Saturday at St. Mary’s Church in Dartmouth beginning at 9:00 A.M. Those who would like to attend are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
