Augusta, GA – Mr. George Smith “Smitty” Anderson, Jr., 62, beloved husband of 44 years of Mrs. Pamela Schiffler Anderson, entered into rest on Thursday, November 05, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Ben Thornton officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Anderson was employed with the Savannah River Site until his retirement. He loved playing the drums and did so at many area churches primarily Southside and Calvary Baptist. Mr. Anderson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and also taught the College and Career Sunday Class.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Anderson is survived by his son, Brian Anderson; his daughter, Jessica Thornton (Ben); his grandchildren, Alexis and Brian Anderson, Jr.; and by his brother, Roland Anderson (Angela).
Pallbearers will be Joe Holland, Tom Miller, Keith Arrington, Don Moody, Don Eagler, Dan Farley, Wayne Martin, and James Lawrence.
