New Bedford – Shawneen A. Castello, age 51, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the St Lukes Hospital . She was the loving wife of Stephen J. Poirier of Fairhaven and the daughter of Paula Barao and the late Bradley Castello. She was born in New Bedford and was a homemaker to her loving family.
She is survived by her 3 children; Brooke Cabral of Acushnet, Craig Cabral of New Bedford, and Nevin Poirier of Fairhaven; her 2 grandchildren: Brendon Cabral and Ellie Mills of Acushnet; a sister: Colleen Melchionne of Liberty, NY. She was also the sister of the late Kerry Castello.
According to Ms. Castello wishes, she was cremated. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Services will begin at 12:00 P.M.. Burial will be private at the request of the family. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
