Obituary

Robert Francis Comiskey, age 82 , a former longtime Dover resident,

Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Francis M. and Elizabeth Ann (Hagerty) Comiskey. Bob was raised in Dover and educated at Saint John’s Preparatory School in Danvers. Following his 1956 graduation from Boston College, he served two years with the United States Army.

Bob married and settled in Dover to raise his family. A senior administrator with Raytheon, he worked for 25 years in Wayland and another 13 in Sudbury. He was concurrently a 40-year volunteer with Emergency Medical Services at the Dover Fire Department. Bob had also served on the Dover School Committee for eight years, was twice the Chairman of the Dover Board of Selectman, and was an active member of Most Precious Blood Parish. He remained an enthusiastic fan of BC Hockey and for 50 years held BC Football season tickets.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary L. (Cosman) Comiskey; six children, Ellen E. Comiskey of Manchester, Robert V. Comiskey and wife Debra of Needham, Catherine A. Racicot and husband Thomas of Medway, Claire Guarino and husband Joseph of Walpole, Kevin G. Comiskey and wife Melissa of Hopkinton, and Brian J. Comiskey and wife Jana of Sherborn; 15 grandchildren; and his sister, Paula Shanahan of Sherborn. His brother Peter predeceased him.

Mass of Christian Burial to follow in Most Precious Blood Church, 30 Centre Street, Dover Friday November 6, at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery, Dover. Arrangements by the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home Natick
