Son of the late Charles and Anna (O’Connor) Bedirian.
Brother of Marion and her husband Mike Connell of Cambridge.
John was the cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren and uncle of four.
Visiting hours in the Brown-Flaherty Funeral Home, 261 Washington Street, Union Square, Somerville on Tuesday morning 9:00-11:00am.
Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am.
John and his wife Peggy enjoyed the summers at their Hampton Beach home with their children and grand children. He was a retired 40 year employee of the City of Somerville. Following his retirement he wintered with his friends in Deerfield Beach, Florida. John was a longtime member of the Castle Island Association, where he frequented on a regular basis. He was also a lifelong fixture in the Union Square neighborhood in Somerville.
John proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, receiving the Victory of Honor Medal.
John’s family request that donations in his memory be made the St. Jude’s Hospital for Children, 313 Washington St. # 310 Newton, MA 02458.
Interment will be private.
