Obituary

Victoria “Vickie” (Rishmany) Cassidy, 95, of Somerset, died Friday, October 30th at the Somerset Ridge Care Center. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. “Hoppy” Cassidy to whom she had been married for 54 years.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late George and Hind (Ashook) Rishmany. Prior to moving to Somerset eleven years ago, Victoria was a lifelong resident of Fall River. She attended the Watson School and B.M.C. Durfee High School.

Victoria worked in the garment district for many years and also worked as an aide at the former 9th Street Day Nursery. Devoted to her family, Victoria cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and beloved sisters, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her role as “family babysitter” creating many wonderful memories for the younger generations. Victoria enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and modeled this to all who were blessed to be part of her family. Victoria’s sense of humor, style and grace will long be remembered.

In addition to her late husband, Victoria is survived by her daughters, Kathleen St.Laurent and her husband Michael of Somerset and Maureen Glisson of Fall River; grandchildren Nikki St.Laurent, Michael St.Laurent, Kelly Land, Christopher Glisson and Jaime Glisson; four great grandchildren and a sister, Olga McCarthy. She was also the sister of the late, Josephine Kalif, Sally Oest, and Adele Victor.

Calling hours on Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 North Main St. Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, Somerset. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Somerset Ridge Care Center Activities Fund.
