Francis X. Meissner of Canton, MA and Sarasota, FL, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 24, 2015, at the age of 78.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Gilmore) for over 50 years. He was the loving father of Steven and his wife Elizabeth of North Easton, Edward and his wife Erin of Charlottesville, VA, Joan of East Boston and Kathryn and her husband Robert Marsden of Fairfield, CT. He was the proud grandfather of Colin, James, Jack, Christopher, Catherine, Tara, Ryan, Matthew and Lauren. He was the favorite brother-in-law of Sr. Catherine Gilmore, CSJ, of Framingham. He is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
He was founder and principal of Frank Meissner Insurance Agency for over 30 years. He was past President of the Canton Retired Mens’ Club, an active member of Boston College’s Class of 1958, a long-time member of the Falmouth Mens’ Club, and a daily communicant at St. Gerard Majella church.
Funeral from the the Roache-Pushard Funeral Home 210 Sherman St., Canton Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gerard Majella Church, 1860 Washington St., at 10 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
