Devoted father of Linda Bartlett and her husband David of Methuen and Richard Polovick of Chelsea. Brother of Helen Cooper of Tewksbury, Betty Quinlan of Rhode Island, John Hewitt of Florida and the late Bertha J. Cowels. Cherished grandfather of Christina Delorey of Elliot Maine, Ashley Freecero of Lynn, Jennifer Bartlett of Methuen and Erika Dube of Danvers. Also lovingly survived by his great grandchildren Keoni and Keilani Delorey both of Elliot, Maine and Sawyer Reed Watson of Danvers as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Friday, October 16th beginning at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service held in Chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St. Everett at 12 Noon. Born in Stoneham and a resident of Chelsea for most of his life, Ernest, at 82 years of age, passed away at the Chelsea Center on Broadway early Monday morning. During his working years, he held a number of jobs but mostly worked as a truck driver. Ernest was an active member of the Salvation Army Seniors Group.
