TAUNTON - Jennie K. (DeSa) Florence, wife of the late Charles C. Florence, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Oct. 5, 2015.
She was 98.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late William and Adelaide (Abreau) DeSa.
A lifelong resident of the area, Jennie was employed by the former New Jersey Rubber Co. where she worked as a trimmer for over 28 years.
She later worked for the former Frank Noone Shoe Co. before retiring in 1985.
She enjoyed knitting, Bingo, walking and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, Charles C. Florence, Jr. and his wife Jean of Taunton, William Florence and his partner Tim Hyer of Plymouth; two daughters, Catherine “Kay” Butler and Barbara Byrne Rezendes and her husband Bing, all of Taunton; her grandson, Michael F. Rezendes and his wife Melissa of Taunton; and 2 great grandchildren, Chelsey and Michael Rezendes, Jr. both of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late John DeSa and Virginia Lopes; and the grandmother to the late James C. Florence.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Oct. 12th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass St. Anthony’s Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 11th from 5 to 8 p.m.
