Gerard F. McManus Jr., 55, of Hudson, formerly of Marlboro, passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, Oct. 6th. Gerard and his family were fortunate to have the wonderful and compassionate care of Gentiva Hospice at their home.
Gerard leaves his wife of 20 years, Claudine M. (Chiasson) McManus and their two children, Gerard F. (Gerry) McManus III and Katrina J. McManus, all of Hudson. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia F. (Rafferty) McManus of Northboro; his sister, Katie O’Neil and her husband Jack of New Jersey; his three brothers, Jay McManus and his longtime partner Susan Palardy of Marlboro, Patrick McManus and his wife Trish of Charlton, Kevin McManus and his wife Karen of Shrewsbury; his aunt, Theresa Rafferty of Northboro; his father-in-law, Al Chiasson and the entire Chiasson family along with his many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Gerard F. McManus Sr.
Gerard was born and raised in Marlboro where he attended local schools and was a 1978 graduate of Marlboro High School. He was employed as an engineer by the Digital Equipment Corp. for many years. He enjoyed golfing and fishing in his spare-time and was an avid Boston sports fan.
Gerard had many interests in his life but truly cherished his family. He always looked forward to attending Gerry and Katrina’s sporting events, activities and family gatherings were always special. His life was short but his love and memories will live on for his family to cherish.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlboro. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Friday, Oct. 9th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the mass at the Tighe-¬Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
