Obituary

Thomas “Tom” R. Bryant Jr., age 92 of Methuen passed away October 6, 2015 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. Tom was born in Orangeburg, SC on March 20, 1923 to the late Thomas R. Sr. and Irene (Lancaster) Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a proud United States Navy WWII Veteran. He was a Coxswain on the U.S.S. Denebola, the U.S.S. Highlands, and the U.S.S. Wisconsin. Following his faithful and dedicated service to our country, Tom was the recipient of the WWII Victory Medal, the American Defense Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the American Area Campaign Medal. Mr. Bryant was a member of the Pioneers, and the Merrimack Valley Stripper Club. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading and working on his cars. Tom was also an active Hamm Radio Operator.

Thomas was the beloved husband of Henrietta C. (Busta) Bryant of Methuen. He was the devoted father of Thomas R. Bryant III of Meredith, NH. Tom was the dear brother of Anne Bailey of Colombia, SC, Joan Mabry of Orangeburg, SC and the late Irene Smoak. He was the loving grandfather of Mary Bryant and Elizabeth Bryant. Tom was the cherished great grandfather of Kayla, Brendan, John Jr., Madison, Mackenzie, Jocelyn and Josiah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends and guests are invited to call on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October, 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
