TAUNTON – Maryann (Burgo) Monteiro, wife of John E. Monteiro, died at her Taunton home surrounded by her family on Sept. 30, 2015.
She was 78.
Born and educated in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Flora (Perry) Burgo.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include one son, John A. Monteiro of Dighton; 3 daughters, Dorothy McKenny, Jenny Burgo and Mary Fisher, all of Taunton; 6 brothers, Frank Burgo of Brockton, Danny, Butch, Christopher and Wayne Burgo of Taunton, and Joseph Burgo-Andrade also of Taunton; three sisters, Jean Pina of Freetown and Flora and Priscilla Burgo, both of Taunton; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 3 aunts; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Joseph and Dennis Burgo.
Her funeral will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday Oct. 6th at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
