Elsie "Pebbles" Gomes, 47, of Dartmouth passed away Monday September 28, 2015.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Virginia Gomes and the late Frank Rose, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Pebbles was formerly employed as a social worker for Project C.O.A.C.H and Mass. Mentor.
She was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and Bridgewater State University.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends, and going to the beach. She enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include her mother, Virginia; her children, Mandy L. Gomes and Neil A. Gomes, II; her stepchildren, Ni'el Gomes, Yashira Torres, Kellsey Gomes, and Ke'lis Gomes; her siblings, Michael S. Gomes, Dona DeBurgo, Frank Rose Jr., Keith Baptiste, Adam Troy Rose, and Sandra Andrade; her grandchildren, Jayden, Matthew, and Avianna; her niece, Courtney Gomes; her cousin, Faleisha Tirado whom she help raised; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Marlene Rose and Paula Gonsalves.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
