MELBOURNE, FL – Elizabeth M. “Beth” Flink Irish, 57, of Melbourne, Florida and a longtime resident of Springfield, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on August 15, 1958, a beloved daughter of the late Roland T. Flink and Mary Ann (Courtney) Flink. She was raised in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and lived in Springfield for many years. She furthered her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree Cum Laude in Social Work from Western New England College in 1981 and later received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Springfield Technical Community College. She was employed as a private duty registered nurse in the Springfield area. She lived in Longmeadow and South Hadley before moving to Melbourne, Florida in February of 2015. Outside of work, Beth was active with her children’s activities. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed travel, gardening and most especially her pets. She loved the beach and being near the water. Her move to Florida brought her closer to boating, fishing and swimming. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother and sister who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection. She leaves her husband, Nickerson E. “Nick” Irish; her two loving children, Adam G. Drucker and Natalie K. Drucker, both of Agawam; her two loving brothers, Carl R. Flink of Springfield and John C. Flink and his wife, Patricia, of West Springfield; her loving sister, Anne M. Flink of Lansdale, PA; her two cherished nephews, Jonathan A. Flink and his wife, Lauren, of West Springfield and Timothy A. Flink of Boston; her cherished grandnephew and grandniece, Ryan A. and Emma A. Flink; and her loving aunt, Helen Moriarty of Springfield. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of her Life at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her burial will be private at the convenience of her family.
