Obituary

LACONIA -On the morning of Thursday, September 24, 2015, Barbara “BJ” Lane peacefully passed away in the arms of family, after a short battle with esophageal cancer.

She was born on February 12, 1933, in Holderness, N.H. a daughter of the late Elton Evans and Barbara (Paquette) Evans Slaughter. Barbara was raised in Campton and graduated from Plymouth High School, and helped her mother to run the town’s phone operation system. She lived in Laconia for 60 years, assisting her husband with their business, Laconia Office Machine, up through 1978, but took the greatest pride in her title as homemaker. She enjoyed planning events to bring family together, preparing and cooking sit down meals, and also going out to eat. Her cats were her family too. She loved to be at the lake, ocean or pool on a warm summer day and had to have fried clams at least once each summer. The biggest joy in her life was to spend time with her sons, their wives and her three grandchildren.

Lane and his wife Cynthia of Oceanside, C.A.: grandchildren Britton Kyle Lane, Londonderry, N.H., Trevor Charles Lane, Fort Riley, KS., Nicole Marie Lane, Oceanside, CA.: and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were all considered family.
