Obituary

Carmine A. Bartolo, a resident of Charlestown for over 60 years, went to the Lord surrounded by his family on Friday, September 25, 2015. He was 87 years old.

Carmine was born in Everett on September 13, 1928, a son of the late Carmine Bartolo and Mariannina (D'Amore) Bartolo. He grew up in Everett where he was educated in the Everett Public School system and graduated from Everett High School in 1947. Carmine enlisted into the United States Army on February 7, 1951 and served his country faithfully and with courage during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged on January 21, 1953 with the rank of Private First Class. Carmine worked as a packer for over 40 years at Revere Sugar Refinary in Charlestown where he met his future wife. Carmine enjoyed coaching the first Charlestown Pop Warner Football Team and being an assistant to the Charlestown Town Team in the Boston Senior Park Football League. He also played for the Charlestown Softball Team in earlier years.

Carmine is the loving husband to Rose M. (McLaughlin) Bartolo. They were blessed to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this past May. He is the dear father of Ann Marie and Maryann. He is the beloved brother of the late Jerry Bartolo and Albert Bartolo. He has many dear nieces and nephews whose love he has been touched by.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carmine's Funeral on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 8:45 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Anthony's Church, 38 Oakes St. Everett at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Boston Firefighters of Ladder Company # 9 and Engine Company # 32 in Charlestown for their friendship and support.

To his family, Carmine remains the best husband and dad in the world.
