Obituary

NORTH DIGHTON – Frank V. Phillipe, Esq., husband of the late Lydia (Teixeira) Phillipe, died at his North Dighton home on Sept. 24, 2015.
He was 99 years old.
Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Silva) Phillipe.
He was a longtime resident of Taunton and graduate of Taunton High School.
In his earlier years, Mr. Phillipe owned the former Crown Oil Company and was a licensed electrician.
A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, he subsequently attended MIT and earned his law degree at Suffolk University.
A practicing attorney for over 49 years, he retired at the age of 85.
Mr. Phillipe was a 70 year member of Taunton’s Elks Lodge 150.
He was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in N. Dighton and member of the American Legion and Portuguese American Civic Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances Ratcliffe and her husband Luther of Swansea and Mary Joan Dary and her husband Robert of Taunton; a daughter-in-law, Connie Phillipe of Raynham; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Jerome of Rochester, Patricia Phillipe of Raynham, William Ratcliffe of Rhode Island, Jeffrey Dary of Quincy, and Keith Dary of Taunton.
He was also the father of the late William F. Phillipe, the grandfather of the late Scott Ratcliffe, and the brother of the late Joseph, Manuel “Red”, and Alfred Phillipe.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Sept. 28th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church in N. Dighton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Sept. 27th from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
