New Bedford– Silvino de Amaral, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Maria (Vieira) Amaral and the son of the late Maria (Conceicao) and Jose Augusto Amaral. Born in Povocao, St. Michael, Azores, Silvino moved to this country in 1970 and worked as a Farmer at White’s Farm Dairy for many years until his retirement.
In his spare time, Silvino loved gardening and tending to his rabbits. His family was his pride and joy and was very proud of his great grandchildren.
He is survived by 3 children; Matilda Amaral and her husband, Manuel, Connie Andrade and her husband, John, and Nelson Amaral and his wife, Giselle, all of Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren: Brian, Derek, Stacey, Felicia and T.J.; 6 great grandchildren: Hailey, Ava, Aubrey, Hunter, Sofia and Zackary; 1 brother, Jose Amaral; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sister: Julietta Amaral.
Mr. de Amaral’s funeral will be on Monday, September 28 beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening in the funeral home from 4 – 7 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
