Barbara R. Hroszowy 76, a lifelong resident of Blackstone formerly of Austin St., died Friday, September 11, 2015 at Worcester Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Arthur Thifault and Helen (Francis) Thifault-Kelvey. In her younger days, Barbara worked at the former US Rubber Shop, CD Burns, and Colby Glass. She then worked as a certified nursing assistant for various nursing homes and the Visiting Nurse Association of Milford for many years. After her retirement Barbara worked part-time as a lunch monitor for the Blackstone School system. She was once an avid bowler, and former member of Brunswick Lanes. She loved dancing, country music, trips to Twin River, collecting antiques, and most of all spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by a daughter Cheryl Gervais of Douglas, MA, two sons, Michael J. Hroszowy of FL and Stephen M. Hroszowy of Woonsocket, a sister Maureen Kelvey of Woonsocket, six grandchildren, Matthew, Trisha, Tina, Stephen, Benjamin, and Abigail, and two great-grandchildren Courtney and George. She was predeceased by a son, Charles Hroszowy and brother, William Thifault.
Visiting hours will be held Friday 5-7 PM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will be Private.
