Obituary

Worcester – Edward T. Emond, 90, of Worcester, died on Saturday, September 12th in Saint Vincent Hospital.

Mr. Emond was married to Barbara (Clark) Emond who died in 1974. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janette (Peters) Emond; his step children, Cassandra F. LeBlanc of Worcester, Anne M. Raynor of Keene, NH and Rev. Roland Emond Jr. of Coalport, PA; 9 step grandchildren; 13 great step grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Eddie was was born in Worcester, son of the late Charles and Margaret “Alida” (Jette) Emond and is also predeceased by two brothers, Armand Emond and Roland Emond Sr.

Mr. Emond served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and then went to work at the former Crompton and Knowles Company for over 35 years. Eddie was currently a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and previously was a devoted parishioner at the former Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Worcester where he served in many capacities. He was the Co-Administrator of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry, head of bingo for many years, served as a Eucharistic Minister and also was a member of both the Golden Age Club and the former League of the Sacred Heart.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 16th at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, September 15th from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Emond can be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church “Family Center Campaign” 1222 Main St. Worcester, MA 01603.
