WORCESTER- Mary P. Nicholson, 82, of Dorchester St., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12th at home.
Mary was born on October 1, 1932 in Baldwinville, the daughter of the late Patrick and Ann (McPherson) Nicholson. She grew up on Vernon Hill and attended Ascension High School. After graduation Mary attended Worcester State Teachers and then graduated from Becker Junior College. She worked as an executive secretary and served as the office manager for the Fusaro & Fusaro Law Firm, known today as Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio Law Office, for over forty years.
Ms. Nicholson was a devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of Ascension Catholic Church and then St. Johns Church, Worcester. Mary enjoyed puzzles, and games, and vacationing on Cape Cod. A regular at Leo’s Restaurant, one could often find Mary there enjoying lunch with colleagues. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of calling Mary their friend.
Mary leaves behind two brothers, the Rev. John Nicholson of Worcester; James Nicholson and his wife Lucile of Coudersport, PA; and two sisters, Margaret Menard of Framingham, and Anne Kiritsy of Worcester. She also leaves a brother-in law, Timothy Reen of Worcester, a sister-in-law, Rhoda Nicholson of Paxton, several nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her life-long companion Don Eaton, her brother, Donald Nicholson and her sisters, Sr. Anne Patrick Nicholson, SND, and Catherine (Nicholson) Reen.
Calling hours will to be held this evening, Monday, September 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Callahan-Fay-Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A Mass of Christian burial is to be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. John Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial is to follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
