Obituary

THOMPSON, CT– Normand E. Tetreault, 82, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare University Campus,Worcester, after a brief illness. His wife of 44 years, Theresa M. (Ostrokolowicz) Tetreault, died in 1999.
He leaves a daughter, Donna M. Stark of Lyndon, VT; a son, Michael N. Tetreault and his wife Denyse of Thompson, CT; 3 grandchildren, Brittany and Jake Stark and Nicole Tetreault; 2 sisters, Annette Thomas of Fabyan, CT and Jeannie Thomas of Quinebaug, CT; nephews and nieces.
He was born and raised in Webster, the youngest child of Ernest and Rose (Therrien) Tetreault. He completed the commercial course at St. Anne’s School and also took drafting classes at Worcester Junior College. He married the love of his life on September 5, 1955 in St. Andrew Bobola Church in Dudley, MA. He had lived in Thompson since 1957.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving on Okinawa where he designed and ran the base’s post office. He was a member of the night ski patrol squad.
Mr. Tetreault first worked as a quality control inspector for Wyman-Gordon Company in Worcester. He then was a collection agent at the Boston Gas Company’s Southbridge office until he retired in 1994.
He was a member of the Kosciuszko Society in Webster and the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post #184. He enjoyed playing cards, especially in pitch and cribbage leagues, solving Sudoku puzzles, shooting pool and reading. He once played on the Fabyan Jaycee Baseball Team. He was a past president of the Thompson Little League and a past chairman of the Thompson Recreation Committee. He enjoyed his daily exercise routines. His treasure was his family.
The funeral will be held Monday, September 14, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors at the cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, September 13, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA of Southern Worcester County, PO Box 368, Webster, MA 01570-0368.
