Obituary

Ryan Michael Ogle
January 25, 1994 – September 6, 2015

“Love lights the way on a foggy, foggy day.
Love lights the way, in the night of darkness.”
-Ryan Ogle, 3rd grade

For 21 years, our dear son, Ryan, embodied the love he wrote of as a 3rd grader: “lighting the way, on a foggy, foggy day.” Unconditional, non-judgmental. He simply lived to cast light where there was none. Music and laughter poured through him as if he were the Universe’s chosen instrument, a role he willingly accepted, to our great joy.

Before he died, Ryan was beginning to live the life he was meant to: excelling in school at the Institute of Production and Recording Arts, working on countless music projects, and “jamming” with some of the most talented musicians in the industry. He was unbelievably, selflessly gifted, and we were and are so proud of him. And we are so blessed that his music transcends his short life here on Earth, so that he may continue to shine his light on those who loved him, and those who will be inspired by his talent to carry on his legacy.

Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Angela and Dave; his stepmom, Kris, and little sisters, Alex and Sammy; grandparents Terri Lins and Don Lins (deceased) and Denny Metz; and Richard and Connie Ogle, many aunts, uncles and cousins, countless friends, fellow artists, teachers and mentors. We are heartened by the outpouring of love from people whose lives he touched, in ways we never even imagined. And we are grateful that you’re helping us understand how even his short life made such an incredible difference for so many.
