Jeffrey Bourassa, age 94 of Methuen passed away peacefully at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on September 5, 2015. Jeffrey was born on July 21, 1921 in Canada to the late Archille and Mary Anne (Bergeron) Bourassa. He was a very proud WWII Army Veteran having served in the Pacific Islands. Prior to its closing, Jeffrey was a long time communicant of Sacred Heart Church of Lawrence. He was a volunteer for the Methuen Housing Authority (Senior Center). Mr. Bourassa enjoyed smoking cigars and pipe tobacco, trips to Foxwoods, scratch tickets, playing bingo and serving as a bingo caller. He was always willing and able to help anyone in need.
Jeffrey was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Morneau) Bourassa with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Pauline Poore and her longtime partner Desmond Johnson of Rochester, NH, Ronald Bourassa and his wife Cynthia of Dracut, Susan Reilly and her husband Douglas of Salem, NH, and the late Raymond Bourassa. Jeffrey was the loving grandfather of 11 and the cherished great grandfather of 10. He was the dear brother of Robert Bourassa of Methuen and Theresa Boivin of AZ.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Augustine’s Chapel, Tower Hill-Lawrence. Interment with full military honors to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen. Donations in Mr. Bourassa’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl.
