Godfrey McGiffin, 74, passed away early Monday morning, September 7, 2015. Godfrey fought a brief battle with cancer with a great deal of courage and grace.
He was well known among musicians of several generations as a hard playing saxophone player who's musical career spanned six decades playing with local musicians as well as some well known recording artists.
He was also a master barber. Godfrey loved animals and some people and he was a caring person and loyal friend.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jefferds Godfrey McGiffin, Sr. and Marguerite Frances Burns McGiffin.
Surviors include his son and daughter in law, George and Jaquie McGiffin; his sweetheart companion, Marcia David; former spouse and friend, Sylvia B. McGiffin Russell; and several long-time friends.
Honoring Godfrey's wishes there will be no services.
