Dorothy Chambers Scruggs
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, August 30, 2015, Mrs. Dorothy Chambers Scruggs, 69, wife of Mr. Alvin H Scruggs.
Mrs. Scruggs was a native of Meridian, MS but lived in Augusta for most of her life. She was a member of the Vineyard Church. Mrs. Scruggs worked in the textile industry as a weaver for many years.
Family members in addition to her husband include daughters: Yvette Scruggs Welsh (Earl) of Martinez and Denise Scruggs Baldwin (John) of Greenville, SC, son: Dusty Scruggs of Augusta; grandchildren: Katelyn Taylor, Erika Baldwin, John Michael Baldwin, and Noah Scruggs; sisters: Edwina Marshall (Edward), Linda Boullie, Mary Fernandes, Betty Jean Gibson and Dana Sue Mills. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward L. Chambers, Jr.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015, 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Daniel Wager officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Adam Lutes, Michael Taylor, Earl Welsh, John Baldwin, John Michael Baldwin and Rusty Welsh.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
