TAUNTON – Diane T. (Amaral) Borges, wife of Louis Borges of Taunton, died at the Leahy Clinic on Aug. 21, 2015 with her family by her side.
She was 80 years old.
Born, raised and educated in Taunton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta (Benoit) Amaral, Mrs. Borges was a lifelong area resident.
Along with her husband, she co-owned and operated Taunton’s former Timberland Oaks for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed her home, traveling, visiting casinos and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of over sixty-one years, she leaves her son, Louis Borges, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Taunton; three daughters, Claudia McLaughlin and Melissa Roy, both of Taunton, and Brenda Hurst of North Dighton; two brothers, Joseph Amaral and his wife Virginia (“Jumbo”) and Norman Amaral and his wife Francis, all of Taunton; a sister, Shirley Dansereau and her husband Jim of Taunton; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Aug. 27th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 26th from 5 to 8 p.m.
