Obituary

Charles P. "Charlie" Lane, a 20 year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 68 years old.

Charlie was born in Boston on October 2, 1946, a son of the late Charles Byron Lane and Margaret (McDonnel) Lane. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Charlie enlisted in the United States Army on October 20, 1966 and served his country with honor and courage during the Vietnam War. He was discharged on October 18, 1968 with the rank of Specialist. Following his service, Charlie worked as a warehouse worker for the Graybar Electrical Company until his retirement after 35 years.

Charlie is the beloved brother of Beverly Wilson of Tewksbury, and William Lane and his wife Ruth of Plymouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Charlie's Funeral on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial will be private. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
