Obituary

Louise H. Passmore, 89, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Passmore was born March 24, 1926, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late C.T. & Anna Belle Hyde Hammond. She was a graduate of Rebecca High School where she played on the state championship basketball team. She was retired manager of the Sears Roebuck Catalog Store in Fitzgerald, where she worked for over 30 years. Mrs. Passmore was a member and past president of the Pilot Club and was very active in the clubs voter registration efforts. She formerly served as a poll worker for Ben Hill County. An active member of Arbor Baptist Church for over 60 years, Mrs. Passmore taught Sunday school, served as director for the youth department and the WMU, and was a member of the Young-at-Heart, the Senior adult choir, and the Finance Committee.

She is survived by her two sons and their spouses: Ronnie & Pat Passmore of Fitzgerald and Jimmy & Vicki Passmore of Chester, Virginia; her grandchildren and their spouses: Shannon & Brandon Thompson, Sandy & Anthony Anderson, Trisha Turner, Stephanie Reaves, Jamie & Amber Passmore, Chad & Julie Passmore, and Jessica Weber; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby & Frances Hammond of Macon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Laxton Passmore; a granddaughter, Rhonda Thornton and a great-grandson, Gregory Thornton.
