Obituary

Alexandre Socrat, of Wayland and South Boston died peacefully at Newton Wellesley Hospital on August 17, 2015. Beloved husband for 57 years to Madeline (Dindy) Socrat.
He attended Boston University and New England School of Law. He worked in securities in the financial district in Boston for many years.
At only 16 years old, he became the Director of the Holy Trinity Albanian Orthodox Church Choir in South Boston. He also sang with the Albanian Chorale Society, participated with the Pan-Orthodox Saint Demetrius Chorale at Hellenic College, the Maliotis Center, Hines Auditorium and Trinity Church all with his wife Madeline.
His beloved Annunciation Orthodox Church in Natick brought an additional 40 years of faith, voice and organ.
In 2012 he was presented with the Herald of St. Constantine & St. Helena Medal of Honor by Archbishop Nikon.
Devoted father to Aaron Socrat and his wife Patricia Socrat of Natick and the late Eric Socrates and his wife Susan Socrates of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Alex was the proud grandfather (Baba) of Nicholas, Katherine, Alaina and Dalton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Annunciation Orthodox Church, 37 Washington Street, Natick on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wayland. Visiting hours in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common will be will be Friday, August 21st, 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annunciation Orthodox Church, 37 Washington Street, Natick, MA 01760 in his memory.
