David J. Clark

Sudbury: David John Clark died peacefully at his home with his family nearby, after a day outside in his favorite spot overlooking his farm, on August 15, 2015 after a long illness. He was 83 years old and in lived in Sudbury for 48 years.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Maryann Kuiaski Clark in 2006. He leaves behind his daughter Audrey Murphy, her husband Glen Murphy and a granddaughter Devon Murphy all of Sudbury; brothers Benjamin Clark and his wife Susanne Clark of Chilmark and Donald Clark and his wife Jacqueline Clark of Cohasset as well as many nieces and nephews.
David was a retired engineer from Trotter Treadmills in Medway. David was also an innovator. He designed a Solar tracking heat collection system that he obtained a U.S. Patent on in 1980. With his entrepreneurial spirit, he was the owner, manufacturer and distributor of his own solar heat company in the late 1970’s. David was also a Veteran and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps of Engineers, designing airstrips for the military. He worked for Lockheed Corporation in California on a team responsible for designing the Polaris Missile in the early 1960’s.
David was a farmer and he operated the pick-your-own blueberry farm, Blue Meadow Farm for the past 44 years in Sudbury. David was a member of the Minuteman Model A Club of America and enjoyed many family trips organized by the club. David had an adventurous spirit and was a private pilot who loved to fly his small plane out of his backyard grass airstrip that he designed and built himself. In the early 1960’s, he also enjoyed racing his hydroplane boat in many competitions in both the U.S. and Canada.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Buckminster Square, 3 Maple Street, Framingham.
Interment will follow in the Clark family lot in Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury.
