Mrs. Fernande M. (Lavoie) Soucy, 67, of Methuen, died Sunday at Massachusetts General Hospital. The daughter of Alphee and Bertha (Therrien) Lavoie she was born in Riviere Verte, Nouveau Brunswick, Canada. Mrs. Soucy moved the Merrimack Valley when she was a young woman and has been an area resident most of her life. She worked as a Title 1 teachers aide for the City of Lawrence for over 20 years, Mrs. Soucy worked as an aide at both Mt. Carmel and St. Anne Grammar Schools. She was a school bus monitor for the City of Methuen, and helped at the Methuen Senior Center, Mrs. Soucy also owned Fern’s Daycare in Methuen, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Mrs. Soucy devoted her life to helping people in need. She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years Gerard C. Soucy of Methuen, one daughter; Carole Soucy-LeBlanc and her husband Matthew LaBlanc of Dedham, one son; Albert Soucy of Methuen. Three grandchildren; Nicolina Soucy, Dustin LeBlanc, and Noah Soucy. She has three sisters; Dorilda Albert, Janet Michaud, and Rachel Lavoie ,two brothers Yvone Lavoie, and Hermel Lavoie and her God-daughter Joanne Michaud along with several nieces and nephews all of Canada.
